The Summer Slip

If your Summer Fun has left you over indulging in all

the good things on the table you are not the only one.

Between all the storms and then all the excessive heat,

a lot of us have let our workout routines slip.  It is time to

get back on that treadmill and take care of ourselves.

If you have been thinking about purchasing one of those workout programs you see on TV you might want to go to the FIT CLUB first.  Here, in our Twin Lakes Area Scott Ifland is a Beachbody Coach and has started a  ~ FREE~  FIT CLUB workout  3 times a week at the Hope Center located in the Twin Lakes Baptist Church  on Hwy 62 The Schedule is listed on our "It's Mountain Home Calendar".

The Fit Club covers workout programs you see on TV, like P90X, Insanity, Turbo Fire, Turbo Jam, RevAbs, Brazil Butt Lift, Body Gospel, Slim in 6, Hip Hop Abs, and many other programs so people can see firsthand whether or not they like them before they decide to purchase.  These workouts range from 30 minute up to 90 minutes, depending on which one is being done.  It’s FREE, you do not have to commit to a membership and you can bring one friend or 10 friends with you at anytime AND no one has to have a membership.  It’s just a great way to sample all the different programs and get some intense workouts while doing it. Try The FIT CLUB and let us know what you think. It really sounds like the variety of work outs would keep things interesting.

Do you belong to The Gym?

Here in the Twin Lakes Area we are lucky to have several  workout options Anytime FitnessCurvesMountain Home Athletic ClubWest Star to name a few. There are also several workout schedules around town that you can find in the Bulletin. Several of these are designed for Senior Citizens to keep them young and active.

There is always just walking. It’s surprising just how much a simple daily walk can do for you. The one thing about this area, there are not many sidewalks so be careful and wear reflective gear when you’re on the street.

There are several different Hiking trails around here and we have several beautiful parks with walking trails. My favorite is Cooper Park in Mountain Home.  It’s a beautiful park and the walking path is so cut up that you can take short walks or long ones. We also like walking through Cranfield Island when you can get to it.  If you park at the boat ramp and walk across the bridge along the lake and then through and around the island it’s a beautiful atmosphere and a great workout.

They say if you can get through the first two weeks of a routine, that it’s addictive after that.  You will be back to your old self in no time. Whatever it is you decide to do, keep active and remember "Life's a party so get out and enjoy it".
